How does one put into words to describe our large “blended” family?
Here is a brief breakdown of our family.
Robert– Lead man of the house, BIGGEST kid in the home and the never ending source of energy. With great pride he served his country in the United States Marine Corp and loves to yell “Oohrah” at a moments notice. During bow season in Central Texas you will find him hunkered down in a deer blind first thing in the morning or aimlessly wondering about daydreaming about Bambi’s daddy.
Rachael- That would be ME! I love to cook (obviously!) garden, and to work with my hands, whether with baking sourdough breads, making pasta from scratch, throwing pottery, sewing and so many other skills I hope to endeavor. I find so much joy in bringing our children into the kitchen with me or out to the garden to share the experiences with me…and I have a quirky sense of humor (according to my teenagers..who are “all knowing”)

Our Children

Danielle- lover of books, musicals, Dr. Who, OneAct Plays, All State Band Solo Finalist, Sold-Out-To-Jesus, and vintage style clothing & shoes…and thinks Converse can be worn with any outfit. More than all that she is an overcomer of life’s hard knocks.
Natalie- book and movie obsessed, enjoys painting, craft projects (especially messy ones) and is a natural caretaker. She is quick to jump in the middle of any cooking adventure. especially if she gets to be the taste-tester at the end…she could live in her PJs if allowed.
Daniel- Lego MANIAC, fan boy of all things Diary of a Wimpy Kid, super tenderhearted and Mom’s #1 sweeper (he has skills when it comes to cleaning our floors)…he hopes to one day be Professional Gamer. (Adopted 2018)
Nicholas- mutton-bustin, deer hunting, good ole country boy. He loves anything CAMO, big trucks, jeans tucked in his cowboy boots and mud streaks across his sweat beamed brow…He is tough but this guy loves his momma and still likes to have his back rubbed before bedtime.
Lillian- sassy with a mind of her own, gives the best hugs and has the silliest giggles. Her thought of fun is dressing up and getting to be the “mom”. ..so she can boss everyone around. She is quick to lend a hand..but she is a tad clumsy. You can find her fast asleep with her princess slippers on, just waiting for another Happily Ever After. (Adopted 2017)
Joy- a miracle baby (will share her story one day), keeps a sparkle in her eye and mischievous grin that warns you that she is up to something. Her morning hair will awaken you with a smile, as it tends to stick up in ALL directions. Her name fits her well, for the abundance of laughter she does bring. (Adopted 2019)
Baby A- Our foster daughter, a bundle of energy and excitement. She can dance and sing all day while dressed up in princess attire and never get tired (while I am limping around from exhaustion and drooling on myself in a zombie state). Dirt and mud is also her friend and she has no hesitation in rolling in it. Let’s call her the Princess Tomboy.
